Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) chairman Vivek Johri has stated that windfall tax on domestic crude oil would continue for now in view of continuous rise in international oil prices. Separately, Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra stated that the Union Budget 2023-24 has estimated collection from windfall tax at Rs.250 billion in the current fiscal.
