SBI expects corporate loans to rise by 14-15% in FY23

State Bank of India (SBI) has estimated corporate credit growth at 14-15 per cent in 2022-23, according to SBI managing director (MD) Swaminathan Janakiraman. Corporate loans are expected to grow by about 12 per cent on average over the next two years. According to Janakiraman, demand for corporate loans is being driven by improved capacity utilisation, higher working capital and to a small extent, by a shift in demand from bond markets to bank loans. SBI witnessed a 21 per cent increase in corporate credit in the September 2022 quarter.
