Agriculture, forestry and fishing accounted for 18.3 per cent of gross value added (GVA) at current basic prices in 2019-20 as compared to 18.5 per cent in 2011-12, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) stated in a report. Analysis of the data showed that the crops subsector accounted for 62.4 per cent of the gross value output (GVO) of agriculture and allied sectors in 2011-12, which gradually fell to 55.5 per cent in 2019-20.
