State Bank of India (SBI) has hiked the marginal cost of funds-based lending rate (MCLR) by 10 basis points (bps) or 0.1 per cent, across tenures with effect from 15 May 2022. This is SBI’s second hike in MCLR in two months. The hike in MCLR by SBI comes after the monetary policy committee (MPC) hiked benchmark interest rate (repo rate) by 40 basis points to 4.40 per cent, in an off-cycle meeting to tame the rising headline inflation.
