India Inc positive about economic growth: Deloitte

Despite a surge seen in the third wave of Covid-19, more than 75 per cent respondents are positive about India’s economic growth and expansion, as per the findings of a pre-budget survey by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP. The survey findings are based on 163 responses from 10 industries. Last year, only 68 per cent had given a positive response. As per the latest survey report, about 91 per cent of the respondents believe that the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, coupled with monetary policy actions by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) did contribute in bringing the economy back on track. They expect the Union Budget for 2022-23 to build on to this momentum. Further, only about 59 per cent respondents believe that India provides a favourable atmosphere to run a business. About 55 per cent business leaders believe that providing extra tax incentives to long-term investors for infrastructure investment can help promote growth in the country.
