The income tax department has issued refunds worth Rs.1.95 trillion to more than 19.3 million taxpayers between 1 April 2020 to 22 February 2021. Of this, personal income tax refunds of Rs.69.7 billion have been issued to over 19 million taxpayers and corporate tax refunds of Rs.1.3 trillion have been made in 2,17,000 cases.
