Nestle India Ltd completed expansion of its existing plant at Samalkha in Panipat district, Haryana. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister, Haryana inaugurated the unit. The Rs.6 billion expansion project was announced in September 2010. The Samalkha plant which was established in 1993, manufactures instant noodles and milk based products for infants.
Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan based Daikin Industries Ltd has started commercial production of room air conditioners at its existing plant at Neemrana in Rajasthan. The company invested Rs.2.5 billion for the expansion. The new manufacturing line has an annual capacity of 5 lakh units. Before the expansion, Daikin was manufacturing chillers and variable refrigerant volume (VRV) units in the Neemrana plant and was importing room air conditioners from its manufacturing units in Thailand and Japan.
JVL Agro Industries Ltd commissioned its Rs.2.4 billion edible oil refinery near Haldia port in West Bengal. The plant has an overall refining capacity of 1,200 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) of edible oil. The oil refinery has a physical refining capacity of 800 MTPD of crude palm oil and soybean oil de-gumming and refining facility of 400 MTPD. The plant also comprises a fractionation plant of 750 MTPD, inter-esterification plant of 200 MTPD and a 3 mw captive power plant. Plant & machinery for the refinery was supplied by Alfa Laval (India).
Godrej Estate Developers Pvt Ltd has completed their commercial complex project christened, `Godrej Eternia' at Chandigarh. The Rs.2 billion complex is situated in the Industrial and Business Park-I, central to the tricity of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula. The project offers 44,593 square metre (sq mt) of office and retail space, and 18,580 sq mt of parking space spread over two wings of equal size. Each wing offers space ranging from 110 sq mt to 3,534 sq mt, as per the company's website.
Godrej Eternia was designed by USA based CSA Partners Ltd and Mumbai based Patel Batliwala and was constructed in joint venture with Zara Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. Larsen & Toubro was the construction contractor for the project.
