Minimum support prices announced for rabi 2013-14 season

MSP for wheat increased by Rs.50 per quintal to Rs.1,400 per quintal

The government fixed the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for rabi crops of 2013-14 season. These crops will be marketed in 2014-15.

The MSP of wheat was increased by Rs.50 per quintal to Rs.1,400 per quintal compared to the preceding year’s MSP. The MSP of barley was fixed at Rs.1,100 per quintal, an increase of Rs.120 per quintal. The MSP of gram and masur (lentil) was raised by Rs.100 per quintal and Rs.50 per quintal to Rs.3,100 per quintal and Rs.2,950 per quintal, respectively.

The MSP of rapeseed was fixed at Rs.3,050 per quintal, an increase of Rs.50 per quintal. The MSP of safflower was raised by Rs.200 per quintal to Rs.3,000 per quintal.
