UPEIDA invites RfQs for 270 km Agra-Lucknow expressway project

To be implemented on DBFOT basis

Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has floated Request for Qualifications (RfQs) to short list developers for its proposed Agra to Lucknow access controlled expressway project. The 270 km proposed six lane expandable to eight lanes expressway is proposed to be developed on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) mode. The project entails an investment of Rs.104 billion. It will have service road on either side.

The expressway project will connect Agra’s Ring Road near Yamuna expressway with Lucknow’s inner ring road. It will will pass through Fatehabad, Shikohabad, Saifai, NH-92 near Etawah, NH-91 near Kannauj and NH-25A near Malihabad.

The draft concept report for the greenfield project was prepared in consultation with Redicon India Pvt Ltd. It was approved by the state government in September 2012. As per the report, in addition to the 270 km expressway, four link roads (63.53km) are also to be built by the concessionaire. These are as follows:

  • Agra Link Road (8.67 km) - to be developed as 6-lane divided carriageway. This will be a part of proposed Agra Ring Road

  • Firozabad Link Road (15.01km - to be developed as 4-lane divided carriageway.

  • Kannauj Link Road (26.0 km) - to be developed as 4-lane divided carriageway.

  • Lucknow Link Road (13.86 km) - to be developed as 6-lane divided carriageway.
