The Economic Intelligence Service is designed to present an analytical macroeconomic view of the Indian economy.
At the core of this service is the Monthly Review of the Indian Economy. This approximately-100 page document provides CMIE's view on the Indian economy. It contains our forecasts: It presents the most regularly updated statistics along with descriptive analysis for a range of lead economic indicators. The Monthly Review of the Indian Economy provides a clear integrated view of where the Indian economy stands today and where it is likely to head.
The Monthly Review eschews opinions. It aims to present the facts in a
- Simple descriptive analytical framework
- Highlight trends
- Point out caveats if any in the data
- Guide the reader to group the current economic trends
It is consistent in its presentation to enable easy reference. The Economic Intelligence Service provides over 10,000 time-series data. These are spread over a dozen documents produced on an annual basis. The annual documents cover the following sectors:
- National Income Statistics
